The main international airport is Ljubljana Joze Pucnik Airport, www.lju-airport.si, located 25 km from Ljubljana and currently served by around 250 direct scheduled flights per week, with a high share operated by Adria Airways, the national airline of Slovenia and a member of the Star Alliance. Persons wishing to enter Slovenia must have a relevant travel document. EU/EEA citizens do not need a passport, only a valid identity card.

Non-EU citizens wishing to enter the Republic of Slovenia need a valid passport and a visa or residence permit, unless otherwise stipulated by law or international agreement.
